Bitcoin Exchange Bitcurex Launches “No Fees for Greece” Promotion

The current financial situation in Greece is causing both excitement and trepidation in the Bitcoin world. Whereas many speculators believe that Bitcoin is seeing a price increase due to the pending Grexit, there are no official statistics to stave that claim. But that isn’t keeping major exchanges from trying to cater to the Greek population either.

Greek Citizens Inquire About BitcoinBitcurex Small

With the Greece economy on the brink of collapsing, citizens are looking for alternate ways to get rid of their money which is being tightly controlled by the banks.  However, the options are fairly limited for the Greek population, especially because it is almost impossible to move your funds out of the country right now.

Investing your remaining finances in precious metals, such as gold or silver, is not an easy task, either.  Granted, you could always relay the request to your bank, in the hopes of them being able to accommodate your needs.  But if the economy collapses, the gold reserves will be the first to go, as they remain the only source of value in Greece.

This brings us to the question of whether or not Bitcoin would be a viable alternative for Greek citizens. According to the information we have received from a Bitcurex representative, this indicates a growing demand for more details about Bitcoin, and how it can be obtained by Greece’s population.

It is important to keep in mind that, even though more and more people are enquiring about Bitcoin, it does not mean they have a full understanding of what this digital currency is capable of.  However, it does show an interest from people who are seriously doubting the fiat currency model, and are looking at any and all other options they may have.

Pushing Greek Bitcoin Adoption

As a result of that growing demand, Bitcoin exchanges such as Bitcurex have started a promotional campaign dedicated to Greek Bitcoin enthusiasts.  This promotional campaign is called “No Fees for Greece”, and will allow Greek citizens to buy and sell Bitcoin on the Bitcurex platform at 0% fees for three months.

Bitcurex is a Polish Bitcoin exchange, which has been around since 2012.  Even though you will hardly hear anything about them in the Bitcoin media world, Bitcurex is one of the more popular European Bitcoin exchanges.  And with this new push to increase Greek Bitcoin adoption, Bitcurex wants to establish themselves as a major name in the European Bitcoin scene.
