Recently, I’ve been checking out a couple of Bitcoin poker sites, extremely low stakes stuff, just to disappear into something enjoyable for a couple hours here and there…
Initially, I wanted to join up with SWC poker, the successor to Seal With Clubs, the tremendously popular poker site until it’s shutdown a few months back, but alas, they have a 1 Bitcoin minimum deposit, so i kept looking.
I found bitcoinpoker.gg and nitrogensports.eu.
Both have minimal initial deposits and host hourly free roll tournaments, which were the main criteria that I was searching for.
Despite its less refined interface, I prefer Bitcoinpoker.gg‘s free rolls to Nitrogen’s, for the reason that it pays out to the top two finishers (1.83 and 1.17 chips) rather than only the top finisher (Nitrogen pays 1 chip to the winner). Note, I haven’t translated the chip values, so I’m not certain which pays more in absolute dollar or Bitcoin terms.
The downside to Bitcoinpoker.gg is its lack of players. In the time I’ve been checking it out, I’ve never seen cash games occurring, and only happened upon one non-free Sit And Go.
Nitrogen Sports, on the other hand, has everything you need to
