ChangeTip Makes it Easy to Earn Gift Cards

What is your worst Christmas memory? Were you expecting something fantastic and grandiose from your friends or relatives, only to open the box and discover a pair of socks smirking back up at you? Did your disappointment grow when you realized that the price tag had been removed?

For the most part, we’ve all dealt with instances like these in the past. You spend hours, days, maybe even weeks sitting and hoping for whatever it is that you want, and yet it never comes. When you don’t know what to get someone, a gift card is usually the prime answer. Let the receiver decide where to go and what to do, and now ChangeTip is making it easier for anyone to get their hands on gift cards and avoid any uncomfortable moments of tension. No one wants to wind up like Ralphie in “A Christmas Story,” forced to walk down the steps in a hot, uncomfortable bunny suit just because someone couldn’t get it right.

ChangeTip has made quite a name for itself in the past few months. Between teaming up with Direct Relief to joining the Chamber of Digital Commerce, it seems that this little “tipping business” is trekking across the map in ultra-large strides. Now, the company is teaming up with digital gift card provider Gyft to help users find the right token for any occasion.

Until recently, customers could only cash out their accounts in bitcoin, but following an announcement on Thursday evening, ChangeTip is allowing its clients to redeem gift cards from a number of top-level retailers including Starbucks, Xbox, iTunes and Amazon.

ChangeTip community manager Victoria van Eyk explains:

“We are doing this because it’s important for people to use their tips. If you receive a coffee, claim the coffee… If it goes well I’d love to link monikers to gift cards, so you can send someone an item and have them claim it at a store.”
