Microsoft has pronounced it will continue to accept Bitcoin, after “inaccurate information” posted on a website caused many holders of the cryptocurrency to trust they had stopped holding it.
A post on a company’s central website progressing this week told business that they could no longer redeem Bitcoins into their Microsoft accounts.
It pronounced existent Bitcoin balances would still be means to be spent, though they wouldn’t be refunded – signifying a association was ceasing support for Bitcoin.
However, a post has been deleted (but is still accessible around a Internet Archive), and Microsoft have expelled a matter assuring business they’ll continue holding their Bitcoins.
Speaking to TechCrunch, a association said: “We continue to support Bitcoin for adding income to your Microsoft comment that can be used for purchasing calm in a Windows and Xbox stores.”
“We apologize for false information that was inadvertently posted to a Microsoft site, that is now being corrected.”
