Roger Ver launches casino on, Americans not allowed

A brand new Bitcoin casino has launched for international players at Roger Ver’s under the domain The newly minted site is the product of a deal between and SoftSwiss Casino Software (SoftSwiss N.V.), a Curaçao-based market leader in online gaming, will bring over 1,000 games including high-stakes gambling.

This deal continues to expand the scope of as a portal for all things Bitcoin.

The deal between and SoftSwiss is being called a “White Label Partnership” by the online gaming firm. SoftSwiss claims to provide a large number of gambling games that can be funded with and reward bitcoins and feature a security measure designed to allow the casino to be made “provably fair.” The partnership also features over 1,000 games from seven different providers.

The security on casino money will stay in the hands of operators, with customer funds held in cold storage. Employees will manually process withdrawals and review documentation, requiring two-factor authentication to ensure transaction security.

A number of Bitcoin casinos have come and gone in the Bitcoin industry. One of the best known, Seals With Clubs, shut down in 2014 after a major security breach. As a result, many online gambling sites are run anonymously, have security issues and tend to close without notice taking customers’ cash with them.

SoftSwiss has been in operation since 2008 and has shown a stable business model building a Bitcoin information and service portal since September last year. Gambling outfits are also plagued with problems with dealing with financial processors (such as PayPal and credit card processors) that often will not partner with online gambling.

According to, the casino will offer deposit, play and cash out options using credit cards, Neteller and Skrill, among others alongside the primary option of Bitcoin.

When asked about the interesting 404 (“Page Not Found Error”) page displayed to visitors from the United States, seen above, Ver told SiliconANGLE, “The philosophical answer is that a bunch of strangers in Washington D.C., that neither of us have ever met, are threatening both of us if I were to allow you to use your own money on my own website.

In 2006, the United States Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA), legislation that effectively makes online gambling across the U.S. illegal. As a result, at the time of passage, numerous previously active online gambling sites immediately withdrew service from the U.S.
