New Binance app screenshots show MPESA payments.
The latest updates to the Binance mobile application for select users indicate that the global exchange is testing MPESA payments.
This update will allow Kenyan users on Binance to make payments on Binance P2P through MPESA. Before this update, traders could only use bank transfer as a method of payment. The new feature is not live for all users but is expected to roll out soon.
You can check if you have access to this feature by following these steps:
- Open Binance mobile application
- Navigate to “P2P” tab
- Click on the “Filter” icon
- Select Payment > All
- Select “M-PESA Kenya (Safaricom)” from the list
Binance P2P currently supports trading in Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa. The countries make up 3 out of the top 5 sources of trading volume for other P2P platforms like Paxful.
When fully implemented, traders will be able to buy bitcoin in Kenya with MPESA on Binance. With additional features like these, Binance P2P intends to attract new users.
