Crypto payment platform Crypto.com has officially attained the highest and strictest level of compliance with the Cryptocurrency Security Standard (CCSS).

According to their blog post on 20th September, Crypto.com has achieved CCSS Level 3 compliance after passing scrutinizing security audits conducted by a team of cybersecurity and compliance experts. This new achievement adds to the existing ISO 27001:2013 and PCI:DSS 3.2.1 (Level 1) compliance accreditations.

CCSS is a strict set of rules that are applied to an information system which stores, transacts with, or supports cryptocurrencies as well as all information systems which handle cryptocurrencies, such as exchanges, web applications, and cryptocurrency wallets.

CCSS was developed to expand upon the existing information security standards such as ISO 27001:2013 by adding detailed guidelines for improved security measures with regard to cryptocurrencies.

As Crypto.com has attained its CCSS Level 3, it has proven that by passing the audit they meet the stringent levels of security with official policies and implementations that are enforced at all the steps of their business framework.

Crypto.com also provides an example in its post regarding how these security requirements are applied:

“For example, multiple staff are required for all critical actions, advanced multi-factor authentication mechanisms are used to ensure authenticity of all data, and assets are distributed geographically and organizationally in such a way to be resilient against compromise of any person or organization.”

A key component of any cybersecurity strategy is the ability and willingness to adapt existing security controls to incorporate new technologies and processes. As the cryptocurrency industry continues to evolve, complying with the highest Level 3 tier of the Cryptocurrency Security Standard further shows our commitment to cybersecurity in the crypto-space.” – stated Crypto.com Chief Information Security Officer, Jason Lau.

The Co-Founder and CEO of Crypto.com, Kris Marszalek, also expressed his thought son the new certification:

Crypto.com is now CCSS (Level 3), PCI-DSS (Level 1) and ISO27001:2013 compliant. We will continue investing heavily in our people, technology, and processes to maintain the highest standard of security in the industry.”
