Morgan Creek Digital and Bitwise Partner to Launch the Digital Asset Index Fund

In the name of accessibility, digital asset management firm Morgan Creek Digital has partnered with the crypto-focused Bitwise Asset Management to launch the Digital Asset Index Fund, according to a press release published yesterday.

Streamlining Digital Assets

Mark Yusko, CIO at Morgan Creek Digital, explained this approach:

“Increasingly, institutional investors are coming to us asking for exposure to the space. We wanted to create a vehicle tailored for those investors. Bitwise was the ideal partner to do this with because of their institutional approach, experienced team, and track record of success.”

Described as “an index fund built for the world’s leading institutions,” the Digital Asset Index Fund creates an easy way for institutional investors to enter into the crypto space with as little risk as possible.

The crypto index fund reevaluates its offerings each month (though they generally stick to the top 10 coins), with chosen assets passing many in-depth assessments before qualification. All assets are stored in complete cold storage, with investors having access to their funds via a portal at any time.

The Digital Index Fund launches today and “is available to approved institutional investors and accredited investors, including endowments, foundations, pensions, wealthy families, and sovereign wealth funds.”

Examples of included assets include Bitcoin, Monero, Dash, EOS, and Ethereum Classic.
