NewsBTC recently got in touch with Marina Titova, Business Developer and ICO project lead of Doc.ai, a decentralized conversational AI for quantified biology. The purpose was to discuss their startup in detail and to know more about their upcoming token sale round. As the conversation began, Titova provided greater insights into their blockchain-based healthcare platform. Excerpts from our conversation:

Gautham N: How does Doc.ai Work in real time?

Marina Titova: At doc.ai we believe that consumers need to be empowered to take care of their own medical profiles. These profiles are bound to be constructed bottom up rather than top down and quantitative rather than qualitative. Doc.ai is planning to develop the NEURON Network, a blockchain-enabled, AI-powered, decentralized medical infrastructure that is completely data-centric and provides algorithmic models. Our community will be built by participants who want to do a deep data trial, or who are collecting the data for family members and loved ones who are no longer able to do it themselves. In this massive distributive system, participants can unite and collaborate with others, with groups, with academia and with organizations and corporations.

Traditionally collecting medical data is difficult. We help participants aggregate their medical data in an app, which will pull additional data from sources such as external medical institutions, wearables, OTC testing facilities and GUI-based lifelogging apps.

Demos are available on our token sale website: https://tokensale.doc.ai/

We got the feeling that your platform is trying to replace doctors. Can patients rely on artificial intelligence over human commonsense knowledge?

The platform does not replace doctors but changes the perspective whereby medical advice is in the foreground and evidence-based data collection and interpretation is done in the background (by machines).  Common sense is a Point of View based on available data, we increase the quality of the Point of View by increasing the quality of the data and having the machine do all the computational and integrational work so that the doctor is freed up to focus on their advisory role.

We understood the artificial intelligence within the Doc.ai system is decentralized. Who contributes to it, and how do you ensure the integrity of data being fed into such a responsible system?

Our community will be built by participants who want to do a deep data trial, or who are collecting the data for family members and loved ones who are no longer able to do it themselves. In this massive distributive system, participants can unite and collaborate with others, with groups, with academia and with organizations and corporations. The Neuron Network is expected to evolve in 3 phases over 18 months.

One: Data Collection (the system will guide users to collect their full biological profiles, ready for AI)

Two: Data Model (users will be able to connect this profile with an AI researchers and data scientist to model their condition individually or in a group)

Three: Data transactions (users will be able to deploy a bio-wallet so that their information (stored on their devices) can be sold in the network

Every user will be guided by the AI system to get the necessary information into their smartphones (edge devices) where it will be encrypted.  The provenance of the datasets that the AI system puts in the phones will be logged onto the blockchain.

How do you propose to secure patients’ data records from third parties?

Data will reside on the edge devices encrypted.

What are your imminent plans after the completion of ICO?

  • Finish the stack of data collection tools

  • Work on/with the community for DApps

  • First pilot projects of data decentralization towards the edge devices

  • Open the network

  • Create the waiting list for the first 100,000 users

  • Develop the community of NRN miners/data scientists

  • Experiment with the distribution of the optimization method from nodes to parameter servers

What is the structure of the ICO? (Bonuses, Dates, Market Cap)

Total of approximately $30m is sold in the ICO across early advisors sale, pre-sale and crowdsale. Pre-sale is currently ongoing for orders over $50,000 at a discount of 10%. Crowdsale is expected to start on September 28. Total valuation of the network at ICO price is $86million.

What are the requirements to participate in the ICO?

All investors need to go through a registration process. US investors need to be accredited in order to participate. For the crowdsale, the use of the Civic app will be mandatory.

Was there a pre-ico?

Yes, we have conducted an early advisors sale that was led by Pantera Capital and Anthony Di Lorio. The press release is available here http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/docai-announces-successful-completion-of-initial-sale-of-saft-securities-pantera-capital-led-the-round-300513271.html
