Bitcoin.com Mining Pool Hits Milestone, Gaining 1% Global Hashrate

The Bitcoin.com mining pool is currently in private beta testing following its announcement on September 21, 2016. In just over two weeks, the mining pool has already established nearly 1 percent of the hashrate across all bitcoin miners in the world.

The mining pool was founded by Bitcoin.com owner Roger Ver. It uses the Bitcoin Unlimited protocol, an alternative client, along with other clients, such as Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Classic.

The reason the Bitcoin.com mining pool chose to run the Bitcoin Unlimited software is that it doesn’t limit network throughput, allowing miners to set their own block size. Essentially, Bitcoin Unlimited lets the market decide the block size limit.
