The aid organization Unicef has launched a project under the name “Game Chaingers”, with the aim of collecting money to support Syrian children through crypto-mining. Unicef provides chaingers.io mining clients (download) on the website that use shader cores of graphics cards to mine the cryptocurrency Ethereum.
According to the UN organization, donors would no longer have to spend “a single euro” to support Unicef. Of course, electricity costs are incurred – according to the organization, no more than in the presentation of a computer game. Currently, the project has a compute power of around 230 MH / s. The donations are intended to provide vital goods and medicines.
