Binance Crypto exchange integrates Bitcoin Lightning

Users of the world’s largest crypto exchange have been eagerly awaiting it. They’re finally here: Bitcoin Lightning transactions at Binance.

Binance has launched its own Lightning Node to provide customers with fast and cheap deposits and withdrawals via Bitcoin.

In a tweet, the world’s largest crypto exchange said it would update “as soon as Lightning is fully integrated.”

Back in May, after Binance briefly suspended bitcoin transfers, the crypto exchange announced the upcoming integration.

Since the transfers in the Lightning network are processed off-chain, users do not have to wait for a confirmation. The basic properties of the main layer remain, however, and secure the layer 2 solution.

Lightning is therefore considered a promising solution that should improve the Bitcoin blockchain in the long term. According to data from Bitcoin Visuals, the total assets in the Layer 2 network are close to $145 million.
