In 1.800 post offices, Euro amounts can be exchanged in Bitcoin, cooperation with the Bitpanda Viennese platform Post will become the hub for Bitcoins.
In the future, customers in the 1,800 post offices will be able to purchase bitcoins and other digital currencies such as Ethereum.
50 Euro, 100 Euro or 500 Euro can be exchanged. Users then receive a code to use their digital wallet at BitPanda.
“Do not replace classic currencies”
Bitpanda is considered one of the largest Bitcoin platforms. It was founded in Vienna in 2014 and currently has over 300,000 users. Bitpanda is hoping – also thanks to the post-cooperation – to grow to a transaction volume of 200 million euros.
“Digital currencies will become central points in our day-to-day lives, but they are not in conflict with classical currencies,” says Bitpanda co-founder Eric Demuth in a press release.
