CryptoFights, a PvP fighting game powered by blockchain technology, recently announced its plans to migrate to the  Bitcoin SV Blockchain for its on-chain battles in an effort to improve the user experience and position itself as a leader in this emerging industry.

The developers of the game, which is not yet fully finished but already has certain features available, decided to take advantage of Bitcoin SV’s potential to efficiently process a significant number of transactions thanks to the size of its blocks.

Bitcoin SV: A Better Choice for Battles, Enjin: A Better Choice for Items

Similarly, on their website, the developers point out a “philosophical” reason behind this decision. The team believes that the blockchain backed by Craig Wright is the real Bitcoin, and has greater potential to scale and remain stable in the face of a high number of operations.

Previously, the game was scheduled for battles to run in an Ethereum sidechain. Inventories of the various heroes would be stored using ERC-1155 tokens.

As a consequence of this switch, Cryptofights makes its programming a bit more complicated by using two different blockchains. Now users will store their items in Ejin while battles will run in BSV.

The team that developed this game explains that they diversified their options since both aspects (battles and inventories) have different characteristics that can be better exploited in different blockchains. In the game’s official website, the dev team highlights the strong points of both Enjin and Bitcoin SV:

Bitcoin SV & Enjin Coin power CryptoFights. Bitcoin SV is the original Bitcoin. It restores the original Bitcoin protocol, will keep it stable, and allow it to scale massively. The project name represents the “Satoshi Vision” or SV.

Enjin is the largest gaming community platform online with over 250,000 gaming communities and 18.7 million registered gamers.

Good News for Bitcoin SV

Cryptofights’ decision marks a victory for Bitcoin Cash’s fork. The blockchain has not behaved particularly well, with almost zero developments, as explained by Jimmy Song.

According to DappRadar, the most popular platforms among game developers are currently EOS, Ethereum, and Tron. However, it is important to note that Bitcoin SV is still a young blockchain and has not promoted itself as a necessarily attractive platform for games. The future of this application could set a precedent for other developments, bringing a little bit of life to this blockchain which is currently used exclusively for speculation.
