Melbourne, BTC Markets is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline Bowler as CEO, effective from Wednesday, 29 January 2020.
BTC Markets was founded in Sydney, NSW in 2013. It is the largest, most liquid, Australian digital currency exchange with 260,000 Australian customers trading more than AU$8 billion.
Interest is growing in the sector with the recent Reserve Bank of Australia announcement on their simulated trials of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
Jarrod Crane, BTC Markets director, said Ms. Bowler was chosen after an extensive and extremely competitive selection process.

Ms Bowler is currently a Strategic Communications advisor with Blockchain APAC and an advisory board member with Tanggram Capital Pty Ltd.
Prior to this role, Ms Bowler was Head, Asia Pacific with Red Flag Consulting; founder of Bowlah PR, the first Fintech-focused PR Agency in Asia-Pacific; and held positions with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Ireland and Singapore.
Previous announcements from BTC Markets include their successful partnership with Ripple for the On-Demand Liquidity platform in Australia.
Commenting on the appointment, Ms Bowler said she was excited to be taking on the role.

Ms. Bowler holds a Bachelor of Communications from Murdoch University, Perth Western Australia, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies from Griffith College, Dublin Ireland.
