A fortune hunter has hit the jackpot. He was able to win 3,125 Bitcoin as a solo miner. But how was that possible?

It’s happened again: A Bitcoin solo miner has proven his luck and prevailed over institutional competition.

As blockchain data shows, the miner managed to process block 888,737. For this, he not only receives the block reward of 3.125 Bitcoin (approximately $263,000), but also the transaction fees of 0.032 BTC.

In total, the miner thus rakes in almost $266,000 in profit.

Unlike professional mining companies, which have access to entire warehouses full of ASIC devices, the hobbyist miner used a FutureBit Apolo Solo.

But mining has become increasingly difficult not only because of the fierce competition, but also because of the ever-increasing difficulty, which has now reached a new record high of over $112 trillion.

The probability of success as a solo miner is therefore extremely low. Nevertheless, lucky finds do occur from time to time.
