U-turn at Binance Privacy Coins still available in Europe
Advertisment

It was only in May that Binance announced that it would suspend trading in privacy coins in several European countries. But the crypto exchange overturns the decision at short notice and cancels a general delisting.

Crypto exchange Binance will continue to offer privacy coins for EU customers. This was announced by the company according to consistent reports.

Binance commented on June 26, “After carefully reviewing feedback from our community and multiple projects, we have revised how we classify privacy coins on our platform to comply with EU-wide regulatory requirements.”

Originally, the exchange planned to suspend trading for all privacy coins in France, Italy, Spain and Poland. Privacy coins are cryptocurrencies with high privacy standards. The tracking of cash flows is difficult if not impossible.

However, according to emails Binance users have received, according to Cointelegraph, the tokens BEAM, XMR, MOB, FIRO and ZEN are still subject to the restrictions.

A general delisting of privacy coins is off the table for now. Some of the projects have already announced on Twitter that they are still listed on Binance.

Binance is currently in a difficult position in Europe. The world’s largest crypto exchange recently had to withdraw from Great Britain, the Netherlands and Cyprus. In France, authorities are now investigating suspected money laundering against the company.
