Crypto trading platform eToro has announced that it will now support Tezos, users now being able to sell and buy the XTZ tokens on the exchange.
The UK-based exchange revealed a week ago that it will be adding a particular token for trading. Yesterday it announced that the crypto is in fact Tezos.

Tezos (XTZ) is currently the 16th cryptocurrency according to market capitalization, currently trading at $1.40 USD. With this listing, XTZ has become the 15th crypto that is offered on eToro’s US platform. The exchange’s other supported crypto assets are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, XRP, Litecoin, Ethereum Classic, Dash, Stellar, NEO, EOS, Cardano, IOTA, ZCASH, and Tron.
eToro’s co-founder and CEO, Yoni Assia, observed how the Tezos blockchain network was gaining traction in the banking sector, as the token is being used for security token offerings which are estimated at billion dollars.
“As we see financial institutions move more into the world of crypto, it is important that ordinary investors can take advantage of these technological developments, which is why we’re excited to be adding coins like Tezos to eToro,” stated Assia.
“eToro is the only place you can trade traditional assets like stocks and commodities, alongside new products such as cryptos. We launched the eToro with the idea of opening up financial markets for everyone and giving investors access to the assets they want is an important part of this mission. Bringing cryptoassets like Tezos to the masses is a key part of this.”
Tezos was created by Arthur and Kathleen Breitman to allow the development and deployment of institutional-grade smart contracts, which is similar to the Ethereum blockchain.
eToro announced in March the roll-out of its crypto trading platform and wallet for United States-based users. The exchange’s blockchain branch called eToroX released the cryptocurrency exchange in April and also revealed 8 new stablecoins. A month ago, eToroX also revealed that it intends to add support for 120 ERC-20 tokens for its wallet.
