Jaxx, the multi-cryptocurrency wallet application which calls itself the “Blockchain Interface” has achieved yet another milestone by including support for ZCash on its Wallet application for iOS devices. Jaxx extended it product offering to include a new cryptocurrency for Apple customers after receiving the company’s approval.

With this new update, iPhone users can now use their Jaxx blockchain wallet to send, receive and hold ZCash cryptocurrency on their devices. The wallet platform had faced issues last year when it attempted to push an update to support DASH cryptocurrency. At that time, Apple had raised objections stating that the company’s policy deems Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Ripple and DAO as acceptable cryptocurrencies. Upon receiving Apple’s communication, Jaxx was forced to rollback the update on App Store.

According to reports, Apple’s approval of ZCash is influenced by the cryptocurrency’s development team and supporters. The Bitcoin fork with enhanced privacy, ZCash has received the backing of some of the leading names in the computer science, engineering and cryptocurrency sectors.

The inclusion of ZCash into Jaxx Blockchain wallet was appreciated by the CEO of Zerocoin Electric Coin Company (the company behind ZCash). Zooko Wilcox was quoted in media saying,

“Jaxx is a very simple, easy-to-use wallet and the team behind it has been a pleasure to work with. I’m delighted that thanks to them, hundreds of millions of iPhone users can, for the first time send and receive Zcash from their phones.”

Jaxx has been an ardent supporter of ZCash. The platform had included support for the cryptocurrency on other platforms since the launch of its mainnet. However, Apple’s policy red tape had delayed the implementation on iOS versions.

In the coming days, Jaxx intends to further improve its platform by cherry-picking and implementing some of the best properties of various blockchain platforms. As a part of its initiative, the company is already in talks with the creators of ZCash, exploring the possibility of including ZEC shielded addresses into the platform. Its potential integration will further enhance the privacy of the platform’s users.

Jaxx has consistently been adding support for new cryptocurrencies. The platform currently supports Bitcoin and a range of altcoins including Ethereum, Litecoin, Ethereum Classic, Dash, Augur tokens, ZCash and Rootstock (in testnet). The inbuilt ShapeShift integration further enhances the experience of its users, allowing them to convert their digital currency balance. With all these developments, it is just a matter of time before Jaxx indeed turns into a single window for all blockchain related needs.
