Malta’s annual iGaming week is just around the corner and SiGMA is preparing for the biggest week to date! On Thursday, 23rd November, AJ Thompson, CTO of Sappaya, will lead a conference on Payments in Room A of the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre. A seasoned online entertainment executive, leader, and strategist, Thompson is an expert in business strategies, team structuring, operational management, gaming products and the surrounding legal framework.

After the opening keynote at 9 am, five notable speakers will discuss the issue of fraud. How is fraud hindering gaming operations? What is the bank’s new stringent approach and how is this all impacting payment departments and the gaming ecosystem in general? Ian Pellicano, Managing Director of ApcoPay has extensive experience in application development, focused on payment enabling technologies and security requirements. His expertise in system solutions design and special focus on Anti Fraud Systems makes his input incredibly valuable. Kristoff Zammit Ciantar, Director of Aqubix, has been working in IT for 14 years and as a Business Analyst by profession, he has years of experience in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical deliverables. Nicholas Gatt and Ben Jordan are two compliance experts who will also be participating in this panel. Gatt is currently responsible for Regulatory Work, Licensing, MLRO Activities and Compliance of various iGaming companies with both B2B and established Operators. Jordan, Director of Aristotle International, focuses on fraud and risk management with extensive experience in both online gaming and financial sectors.
