Polygon wants to offset its carbon footprint in 2022. The network is providing 20 million US dollars for this purpose.
- Polygon has committed $20 million to offset its carbon emissions in 2022.
- The money will also go toward climate initiatives as well as “providing resources to ecosystem partners who want to offset their carbon footprint,” according to a blog post.
- The team announced that “every transaction will be tracked and its environmental impact offset. Once this goal is achieved, Polygon will work to become the first blockchain to be carbon neutral.”
- That would include NFT trading as well as DeFi applications to the network.
