Using a Trezor Wallet can Help Unstuck Your Litecoin Transactions

Litecoin users may find themselves in a bit of an awkward position right now. Earlier this week, we saw a major spam attack clog up the network. Albeit that attack subsided pretty quickly, there are still some stuck transactions. Thankfully, these can be unstuck with relative ease if you use a Trezor wallet. It is good to know such tools exist to address issues like these when they arise.

Dealing with a stuck transaction is always a problematic endeavor. In most cases, the only option is to wait until the transfer is picked up by miners. Not everyone has that amount of patience, though, which is only to be expected. Luckily, this is less of an issue when dealing with the Litecoin network. It is possible to unstuck transactions with relative ease, assuming you are the owner of a Trezor hardware wallet. For the time being, there do not appear to be other solutions to deal with stuck LTC transfers right now.

Trezor Wallet Can Help Confirm Litecoin Transfers Quicker

The first step is opening your Trezor wallet and locate the unconfirmed transaction in the list. Users then need to open said transaction in the block explorer and edit the URL in the browser to locate the hex string. They can then enter this hex string in one of two websites to push the transaction. In most cases, users will receive a regular TX id like they would otherwise. It is also possible there will be an error message, which simply means the user made a mistake somewhere.

Do keep in mind this is not necessarily a foolproof solution. For most people, this Trezor method seems to work just fine. However, it is possible the process may need to be repeated several times to get the transfer confirmed. The sites push the transactions to a Litecoin network node for quicker confirmations. It seems most of the stuck transactions weren’t relayed properly or have a fee which is too low. More advanced users could set up their own node to push transactions to with a modified minimum relay fee setting.

All of this goes to show stuck transactions can often be solved with relative ease. While using third-party solution is convenient,  it is well worth looking into the node solution as well. Litecoin users who have stuck transfers for several days may want to look into this method regardless. Not everyone owns a Trezor, but it goes to show a hardware wallet isn’t required to push transactions. It will be interesting to see if more people set up a Litecoin node with lowered minimum relay fee.
