The US retail giant Walmart is looking for a system based on the blockchain technology to track the delivery of packages through drones.
To distinguish itself from other retail chains, Walmart has been working on a project since October 2016 to develop a solution to improve the pursuit of such drones.
The patent application to the Trademark Office (USPTO) on 25th May, “Unmanned Aerial Delivery to Secure Location”, outlines how Walmart plans to integrate the Blockchain technology into its supply chain.
Already in the past, Walmart has been testing for storage and shipping of products. A step in the drones sector could continue to give impetus.
A next step might be the acceptance of the digital coin. Should the payment be made via Bitcoin, Bitcoin could go over to the daily routine, especially in the USA.
