The popular hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger has recently revealed that its flagship product, the Nano S, now supports Cardano (ADA). The addition of ADA to the list of the device’s supported cryptos now translates to the devices supporting all coins listed on the top ten by market cap.

Ledger’s Nano S Wallet Owners Can Now Store ADA

As a result of this addition, ADA holders will now be able to protect their private keys using the Ledger’s Nano S wallet.
Confirming this addition is a tweet coming from the Cardano Community (@Cardano) twitter account. The account tweeted that:

“Cardano is now supported by Ledger! Users will be able to protect their private keys through Ledger’s Nano S wallets, giving them another secure cold storage option for their ADA.”

The Cardano community has also revealed that the Ledger Nano S also integrates with the Emurgo-developed Yoroi wallet. This makes the wallet the first ever app to support the Cardano ledger hardware wallet.

The community revealed this via a blog post which reads:

“EMURGO, the official commercial arm of Cardano- the first peer-reviewed third generation blockchain – is excited to announce the integration of Cardano’s ADA with Ledger, a leader in security and infrastructure solutions for cryptocurrencies and blockchain applications. The highly popular Ledger Nano S is now compatible with Cardano’s ADA. Users will be able to protect their private keys through Ledger’s wallets, giving them access to their ADA with increased security and peace of mind. The Ledger hardware wallet integrates with the EMURGO-developed Yoroi wallet, the first official companion app to support the Cardano Ledger hardware wallet.”

Ledger Nano S is Certified by CSPN

The Ledger Nano S which was recently launched has received certification by the prestigious French cybersecurity agency— Certification de Sécurité de Premier Niveau (CSPN). As of now, Ledger has sold more than 1.5 million hardware wallets worldwide.
